Rosa Parks today took her place among the giants of American history when her statue was unveiled on Capitol Hill. It stands proudly in Statuary Hall, with two statues from each state.
Parks, of course, was the Alabama woman who, in 1955, refused to go to the back of a bus, when ordered to do so by the driver. Her defiance sparked a key chapter in America's long civil rights struggle. Hers is an amazing story - here is West Wing Reports's account of it.
